Novak failed to capitalise on three break points in the opening game of the second set. He earned another chance in the fifth game and used it to go up 3-2. The 22-year old faced scare in the eighth game when he handed Nadal his first break point with a cross court backhand into the top of the net, but saved it with a forehand winner and held for 5-3. Djokovic used his second match point in the tenth game and booked himself a place in the finals.
